Penn Color opens its first production plant in Thailand

New facility serves growing APAC region demand, and complements Penn Color’s Technology Center in Singapore opened in January. Rayong, Thailand – Penn Color, Inc. has taken a significant step in expanding its manufacturing capabilities with the opening of a world-class facility in the Pluak Daeng Subdistrict, Rayong Province, Thailand. Situated in the heart of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and located near major industrial areas and the largest ports in Thailand, this new factory allows Penn Color to supply high-quality colorant and additive masterbatches to markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region. “This state-of-the-art facility has been planned with remarkable levels of flexibility to meet the most demanding technical and quality requirements, for packaging, consumer goods, building products and transportation. Delta-Q Technologies commences full production of its 3.3 kW battery charger

The XV3300 battery charger is a 3-in-1 on-board charging system offering stellar performance and features, suited for non-road mobile machinery. Delta-Q Technologies (Delta-Q), a leader in battery charging solutions for electric vehicles and industrial equipment, has announced that its innovative mid-power charger, the XV3300, is now in full-scale production. With its unique 3-in-1 design, this highly efficient charging system integrates a 3.3 kW battery charger, a 500 W DC-DC converter to power the vehicles’ auxiliary loads, and an EV charging station interface. These key features, encased in a ruggedised IP67 design, provide OEMs with an attractive package for simplifying electrification of their off-road applications. “No other 3.3 kW charger on the market also includes a DC/DC converter for auxiliary DC loads and an EVSE charging interface in such a compact size,” said Mourad Chergui, Senior Product Manager with Delta-Q. “As we start full-scale production, we can begin to fulfill the substantial demand we received since we first announced the initial development.” The 3.3 kW charging solution is available in 58.8, 65, and 120-volt DC models and is scalable, allowing OEMs to stack up to three chargers for power levels up to 10 kW. TANAKA launches new alloy “TK-FS” for probe pins

Development of material with high hardness, low specific resistance, and high pliability that allows for use in a wide range of probe pins for semiconductor test equipment TANAKA has launched TK-FS, a new allow for probe pins of probe cards and test sockets used in the testing process of semiconductor manufacturing. Samples started shipping in July of 2022, and a material with even better performance has been achieved through continuous research and development. So far, TANAKA Kikinzoku Kogyo has been manufacturing and selling palladium (Pd) materials mainly for pogo pin-type probe pins used in test sockets for final testing (post-processing) of semiconductor packages. The latest TK-FS launch is a material that can be used in a wide range of types of probe pins besides pogo-pin types, such as cantilever-type or vertical-type for wafer testing (pre-processing) probe cards. This product has three unique attributes: a Vickers hardness of at least 500, specific resistance of at most 7.0µΩ･cm, and durability that can withstand 10 or more times of repeated bending. In TANAKA Kikinzoku Kogyo’s existing products, there is no material that has simultaneously achieved these three qualities of high hardness, low specific resistance, and high pliability. This product succeeded in addressing all requirements, allowing the same material to be used in various types of probe pins. In the manufacturing process of semiconductors, semiconductor test equipment is used to conduct testing—divided into several stages—to see if the semiconductor is operating properly, how many years it can operate, and whether it is operating safely. The winner of the international Swedish Steel Prize 2023 is Green Buffers from Sweden. The prize is awarded for their highly sophisticated use of energy-absorbing high-strength steel to make trains safer for passengers and more economical for operators. “The Green Buffers system uses high-strength steel profiles to dissipate the energy from a train collision in a controlled way. Their new generation coupling technology opens up for sophisticated custom design solutions that will save lives and reduce costs,” says Eva Petursson, chair of the Swedish Steel Prize jury and head of SSAB’s research and innovation. New generation train coupling technology Existing crash management systems for trains are primitive. Safety standards are based on technology from the 1960s or 1970s and even minor accidents result in derailments. This is where Roger Danielsson and his colleagues at Green Buffers saw room for improvement. Inspired by the automotive industry, they have developed an energy dissipation system based on high-strength steel that makes train travel safer for passengers and more economical for operators. The system consists of twelve deformable units mounted in the coupling interfaces throughout the entire train set. In a collision the Strenx® 700 MC steel profiles in the units fold like an accordion, absorbing the impact of the shock in less than a second. By averting the initial peak force and by minimizing all other peak forces, energy from a collision is distributed in a controlled manner. “Unlike with cars, practically all train collisions are frontal. This gives our system enormous significance,” argues Roger Danielsson. Greene Tweed to open new facility in Korea

New manufacturing plant is a strategic growth investment in the region, bringing enhanced supply chain stability to the semiconductor industry. Following the submission of the country’s long-term strategy for carbon neutrality to the United Nations, the Royal Government introduced the Power Development Masterplan (PDP) and the National Energy Efficiency Policy (NEEP) to the public.
