MattenPlant seals trio of strategic agreements to strengthen market position
MattenPlant Pte Ltd (Matten), a Singapore-based specialist in both municipal and industrial process water and wastewater treatment, signed three milestone partnerships at Singapore International Water Week 2024. Representing a major step forward in the company’s mission to drive better water safety and efficiency across Southeast Asia, the agreements include:
- a Memorandum of Understanding with Royal HaskoningDHV
- a Memorandum of Understanding with Schneider Electric, and
- a distributor agreement with bNovate Technologies.
MoU with Royal HaskoningDHV
In this agreement, Matten and Royal HaskoningDHV will collaborate to implement the Ephyra® sludge digestion technology at the Integrated Validation Plant (IVP) at Ulu Pandan, Singapore.
Funded under the Living Lab (Water) scheme, this pilot project seeks to significantly reduce the sludge retention time without affecting the stability of digested sludge. Leveraging this partnership, both parties can potentially expand their efforts into other Southeast Asian markets in future.
MoU with Schneider Electric
The partnership focuses on jointly developing disruptive technologies that improve sustainability and resilience in water and wastewater treatment systems. In part, Matten will develop expertise with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure platform that enhances the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of Matten’s systems.
Matten will also integrate EcoStruxure’s Automation Expert into the Aerobic Granular Sludge Process Control for seamless data exchange and optimized efficiency.
Distributor Agreement with bNovate Technologies
As one of the first distributors for bNovate in Southeast Asia, Matten will bring the company’s innovative BactoSense® analyser to the region. BactoSense offers real-time online water monitoring, allowing for rapid responses to potential contamination and ensuring water safety.
This cutting-edge technology uses advanced flow cytometry and addresses bacteria-related challenges in various industrial and municipal environments, including water networks, drinking water production, and Cleaning in Place (CIP) operations.
These agreements follow a recent contract awarded to Matten to build one of the world’s largest municipal Side Stream Nitrogen Removal (SSNR) plants. Located in Singapore, the plant integrates ANAMMOX technology and operates at a nitrogen removal capacity of 10,000kg per day.
Victor Lim, CEO, MattenPlant Pte Ltd, said, “By leveraging our partners’ technologies and expertise, Matten is able to provide customers with comprehensive integrated solutions. Coupled with Matten’s process design and engineering capabilities, inhouse manufacturing, and regional presence, these partnerships enable us to enhance our service offerings, drive sustainability, and ensure the highest standards of water safety and efficiency across Southeast Asia. These agreements mark a significant step forward in our mission to deliver advanced, reliable, and eco-friendly water treatment solutions, solidifying Matten’s position as a trusted partner in the industry.”
