Global distribution agreement boosts cooperation between RS Components and TDK Corporation

Customers gain greater access to TDK’s passive components, now available across global markets from RS distribution centres.

Singapore, 12 June, 2015 – RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, has entered into a global agreement with TDK Corporation to distribute the Japan-based manufacturer’s portfolio of TDK and EPCOS passive electronic components.

The agreement consolidates the existing relationship between the two companies, and enables customers around the world to purchase a huge selection of TDK products direct from RS. RS stocks hundreds of passive components developed by TDK, including: ceramic, aluminium electrolytic and film capacitors, ferrites, inductors, protection devices, and high-frequency components such as surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter products and connectivity modules. These components are used in a diversity of applications across many market sectors, among them information and communication technology, consumer, automotive, and industrial electronics.Global distribution PIC

“This global agreement with RS delivers an important message to our customers that they can gain fast, easy access to our passive components anywhere in the world,” said Osamu Katsuta, General Manager, Global Distribution Division, TDK Corporation. “RS has an excellent eCommerce structure and logistics record, and our increased cooperation will provide assurance of even higher levels of customer service.”

“TDK offers a breadth of choice in passive devices, and our collaboration will ensure that this vast product choice is passed on to customers through quick, easy online selection via the RS websites,” commented Kevin McCormack, Global Head of IP&E at RS Components. “By stocking these products in our global warehouses we are also providing a guarantee of fast delivery, which is a real advantage for engineers facing project deadlines.”
